I recently received a new Benchmade 707, sporting the first axis lock that I've ever seen or played with, much less owned. What an awesome knife! The size is perfect for EDC, with a very solid package. The knife flies open like nobody's business, and the 154CM blade is shaving sharp. Did I mention that this thing is very solidly built? It nearly makes my Spyderco Native feel like a toy. It is also designed very well. The dual thumb studs are designed to nearly match the axis lock studs, and the full-length stainless liners sport nicely contoured 6061-T6 aluminum handles with inlaid, textured G-10 scales.
I also like my BM 690 Elishewitz very much, but it is a little too large and fancy imho for a regular EDC. My Native is nice, too, and super sharp, but it just cannot compare to the Sequel (707), and perhaps it shouldn't for the price difference. I'm awaiting delivery of a titanium-ZDP Leek and a Fallkniven U2 lockback, and I'll look forward to comparing both to the 707!
