With the potent dollar toward the weak euro us - manufactured knives have moved out of price reach for me. CRKT just fits my bill
Last year I bought a large KFF and I´m very happy with it except I´d like to have at least Aus 8A on it.
Last week I gave my self as a birthdaypresent the spearpoint Le 1* M16 and dang what a sweet piece of steel this is;-)
Dangerously sharp, addictive flipper, and beautifull colours ....

Good for you! Am always glad when someone else joins the CRKT cheerleaders.

Was just reading this evening from Jan '99 Tactical Knives. Jerry Van Cook, my favorite of hte knife writers, went on at some length stating strongly his opinion that CRKT knives are in the top echelon of fit/finish, design, etc., while in a lower tier of price range. It is so nice to read something where someone agrees with you.

Enjoy your 16.

Roguev Spear,
so far the coating is holding up well. I haven´t had knife for long though, so I can´t really say. Most of my black knives have scratch marks and I´m shure this will happen to my M16. Natural course for a user knife, but I prefer a scratched almost maintainence free black coating to a stained and rust prone beadblast any day.
A samll protion of the handle coating came on the clip side of the knive, I guess this happened where it brushed against the real harsh world of coats and zippers.

Hope this helps
