I love spydie holes they are the best opening "mechanism" ever, but it pains me to open them because then my oily fingers soil the nice, clean blade i just polished or cleaned....

Anyone out there feel the same way, or have any tips or techniques they use to keep their Spydies looking brand-new?

I wash my hands...

Seriously, I know what you're talking about, but I think this is a problem with pretty much every folder, and it's especially noticeable on ones with nice polished finishes, instead of black-coated or bead-blasted.

I know what you mean... I usually wipe the blade off with my shirt just before closing for that very reason -- resulting in several shirts with cuts in them. I guess I value the appearance of my knives more than that of my shirts...

This is probably a small part of the reason I bought a Mayo TNT, since it allowed me to use a blade with an opening hole, but not have to worry that my oily thumb might discolor the blade. Let me emphasize that: a *small* part.

I suppose you could carry a handerchief or something to wipe them off with instead of using your shirt.
