If you are ever in central Ohio...during Labor Day weekend...you owe it to yourself to check out Swapper's Day at the Johnstown Ohio Sportsmen's Club. I am talking literally around a thousand different vendors...offering up anything you can imagine...not to mention 75 percent of the folks attending all have guns or knives for trade or for sale. I took three knives with me yesterday...and got three interesting trades.
I traded my Kershaw Steven Seagal for a new CRKT Corkum First Strike OD, which I really like...I needed a good knife for a "camp" knife and I think this fits the bill nicely. I traded an old Case Sodbuster and some cash for a Hi-Standard 22 magnum derringer just like my father used to have. The best trade of the day...my very foolishly purchased Brian Wilhoite Custom Celtic Fighter knife...that turned out to be a piece of Pakistan made junk...some guy was so hot to get it, he traded me a beagle pup for it...lol. (yes...lots of hunting dogs and pups at this meet as well). Bottom line is, we got a great new pet and I got rid of a knife that was bugging me since I actually wasted my money on it. It was a great day of trading, wheeling and dealing, and I saw more great knives and guns in an afternoon than I will see in the next six months.
If anyone has ever been to this great event....let me know! Happy Labor Day to all!!
