I have a CRKT folding Hissatsu (first generation). It's a nice knife in general, but I especially like the handle. It's very comfortable in all grip positions and rides well in the pocket too. I also like that it has a very long blade for the handle (the blade goes all the way down to the butt when the knife is closed). The blade is beautiful, but not very optimized for general use. It's got a fairly narrow, thick blade with a flat saber grind and thick edge bevel to reinforce the long, narrowing stabbing point. The fact that it is indeed designed as a weapon and really looks that way is another reason why it doesn't get carried much, which is a bit of a shame.
I would really like CRKT to make a knife with the same excellent handle, but a more useful blade. I'd like a slightly wider blade with a nice full flat grind, more belly, maybe a slight drop point (or even a more regular tanto tip) and also packing the handle with just as much blade length as the Hissatsu folder. That is a knife I would carry and use whenever possible.
I actually even mailed CRKT about this, explaining the idea. I got a pretty generic answer, where they thanked me for my support and not so much more. Has anyone else thought about this? I think it would be a pretty good seller.
