The Mnandi is my favorite folder. As of yesterday, I own nine (9). Of the last 3 I don't have pics, because I work abroad, the knives arrived at home, so it will be august before I see them. Ironwood, Snakewood and Bloodwood, all 3 with damascus blades.

Here are some pics of the 6 others:

My first one: African Blackwood, purchased at a knifeshow in the Netherlands, december 2007.

wow, nice collection!

someday, i will get my hands on one to see how i like the feel of the mnandi. then, i am sure i will buy many. :)

Nice pic's, clever idea with the book!

Is it true that the Mnandi can be opened one-handedly?

Excellent. The Mnandi is my favorite CRK. I currently own three, and am always in the market for another. :)

In about a year I wil have enough money saved for a folder in this class. Being on a high school budget would you enlighten me as to how good the bang for the buck is. I wanna say I get more knife with a mnandi then a Small Reg. Sebenza.....am I right?

I have both and it depends how hard you want to use it. I carry my small Sebbie everywhere and it can take on cutting tasks large and small. The Mnandi is a great little knife but I usually only carry mine when I'm at work or dressing up.

For your first good knife or first CRK knife I'd recommend the small sebbie first. You won't be afraid to use it for everything and if you get it scratched up it adds character. I don't think the same exactly holds true for a Mnandi.

Either way I'm sure you'll be very happy,

RNST, your one and only Mnandi is absolutely fantastic. If you ever want to get rid of it...

Kind regards,

Jos

(and I'm stealing your pic again!:D;))

Wow, great pics, Jos. Someday, I will get one. I especially like the boxelder inlay - a lighter colour suits the knife very well.

Yesterday I got my first Mnandi (which was also my first Chris Reeve knife) from my awesome wife for our 10 year wedding anniversary. She is truly a keeper (the wife and the knife). :) It is has the Bloodwood Inlay.

She picked it up from Kelly's Cutlery in Modesto, CA. This is a small knife shop that anyone in the central valley needs to check out. Not a huge selection [like Nordic knives (Slovang) or Plaza Cutlery (Orange County), but this place is only 15 minutes from my house!], but they do have one or two knives from a lot of top end knife manufactures there to see and handle.
