We have a set of
RULES for this forum. If you want to particpate here and haven't read them (or just haven't read them recently), then please take a minute or two to familiarize yourself with them. It will only take a minute or two to read them because they are few and very plainly worded.
One of those rules reads as follows:
RESPECT FOR THE MODERATORS does not mean that you have to agree with us on everything we say. But, you are expected to cooperate with us in keeping the peace and good order. If you disagree with or have a question about a moderator's official actions (or inactions), contact that moderator by e-mail or private message or take your complaint up with Spark in the Service and Support forum; that is the appeal path. Do NOT argue in the forum with the moderators about official acts; that is the banning path.
Mr. Cakes took the banning path... and he took it in a really big way!
I want to make it very clear that you certainly may disagree with a moderator; you are welcome to do that. And, sometimes, moderators do make mistakes; we're not above that. BUT, you must take those matters up through the proper channels and in the proper ways. There is a right way and a wrong way.
Mr. Cakes violated our rules. I tried to do him a favor by moving his post out of the forum quietly without issuing him even a warning, much less an infraction. I was trying to be nice to him and help him out. It's a bit like the police officer who pulls you over for an obvious violation but says, "I'll let you off with just a verbal warning this time." What do you do in that case? Do you spit in the officer's face? No. You say, "Thank you, officer." Mr. Cakes showed his gratitude to me for my courtesy to him by spitting in my face.
And now Mr. hawaiibalisong2 characterizes me as "like a vulture." Well, if that's how you view my attempt to skirt Mr. Cakes around any infraction, my attempt to help him out, then I think Mr. hawaiibalisong2 is the one who needs to "get a life."
