OK, now that I finally got a little sleep...
The park is located in Camp Verde, which is NW of Phoenix. They have a website-if you do a Google search, I know it pops up.
Having been at this place once before in my life and knowing there was nothing else really like it in AZ, when Skunk posted the pics, I felt pretty sure I at least had the right place down, but did not know if I had enough clues to locate the tag. So I waited for more clues which never really came, and took that to mean the given clues were enough to find the tag. I also waited because I knew there were others here who were much closer in proximity to the tag than I am. I figured they would be jumping on it if they knew where to jump.
When I decided I was definitely going to go for it, I packed up my family for the day trip that it would take to even have a chance. I printed out the pics and off I went. When we got there, some parts of the park were closed for maintenance or repair. Enter the "sinking feeling". We had the pics and looked everywhere (the 12 year old and I both looked), but could not find the eye in one of Skunk's pics. We were about give up when I decided to talk with some park employees about construction at the park. Info from that gave us our second wind, and then we found the eye in Skunk's pics. Knowing we were very close, my whole family descended and we were looking everywhere around the sign (and getting very strange looks from other folks too). Finally, I saw it wedged in between the sign and a cross beam on the back of the sign about 6-7 feet off the ground. It took me three looks standing on a bench just to see it; Skunk hid this well. Well, to make a long story short, I had to find a paper clip to get this thing out as the blade on my knife was too thick. The paper clip came from a kid in the park I never met before. I bought him some ice cream and there were "high fives" all the way around. What a trip! And two significant road closures (I-10 E and I-17 N)made it even more challenging.
Anyway, I got her. And not that it would have been that bad if I didn't since the park is still a lot of fun just by itself.
BTW, if anybody knows (Schuey2002 if you check back here), isn't there still a missing tag in east Texas???
