Okay, let me say this first of all. Since my first sebenza a regular with bg-42 steel, I have acquired two more. A Stars and Stripes with S30v and a Woodie with Madagascar inlays and BG-42 steel. So I love the Sebenza. So much so that I wish I could win the lottery and then I would corner the market on them an just build a nice shadow box wall to display them.

That being said, I think they are so damned ugly. Dang, even the woodie is beyond ugly. They are like a really fun girl you like a lot, but is ugly as homemade soap.

I just think they are so ugly they are cute in a utlitarian way.

I love the three I have but don't think I will be getting anymore, unless I can find a "In God We Trust" with BG-42.

I know this will start a flame, again. But at least this time, I like the ugly knives. Beauty is beyond the mind of man to understand, but ugly is easy to recognize.... :D :D :D :D :D

NO they are NOT NOT NOT for sale or trade. I will keep them, cause like the ugly duckling, they are full of beauty that can not be seend.

God Bless America, Her soldiers, Her leaders and especially Her People. May He in His wisdom grant us the will and the strength to stay the course and crush our enemies.

Sebenza ---- the ugliest knife I LOVE with ALL my heart....

Thanks,

Paul G.

I dont think a hummer or land rover are great looking, but off road they are just awesome. Kinda the same with a sebbie, what it lacks in looks it makes up for in personality and perfection. Ive had all the rest, and i can honestly say there is nothing like kicking back after work with a cigar and a fine sebenza. silky smooth and robust like a fine knife should be. or is that a women. either way you cant go wrong with a sebbie.

Well, I must say that the hummer analogy is perfect. They are ugly as a vehicle could be, but dang I love them and want one, but sadly I can not get one. I must settle for a Dodge pickup... :D

Robust women are the only way to go. Leave the skinny models for the yound studs that have not come to appreciate the finer things in life.

The Sebenza is perfectly ugly and ugly perfection. Either way they are only Hell of a knife. My woodie is sort of interesting. It takes ugly to a new level, but in a nice Hell-Bent-For-Leather sort of way.

I just can't find them pretty, but I can always find them when I need a knife that was born to CUT.

Just a little side, I notice my Stars and Stripes was born on July 3, 2000... HOW COOL IS THAT.... I reckon CR Knives was closed on the 4th..... ;)

By the way, I did send an email to CRK that explained that I thought they made the BEST and UGLIEST knives in the world. It was a nice and funny email. Bridget responded very nicely. Saying that my email was the most fascinating they had gotten in quite a while. :D

So, I guess I am officially hooked on these ugly knives. Dang, I did not win the lottery either,,, so now I have to call the Plasma Center... lets see at 50 dollars a week... hmmmmmm.... wont take long for my next Sebenza....

God Bless and Keep 'em sharp and close.

For me the old adage "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" rings very true regarding the Sebbie. I think it happens to be the most beautiful knife I've ever seen. I find it so esthetically appealing because of it's utterly simplistic/utilitarian appearance. No bells or whistles there just incredible craftsmanship that jumps right out at you.

That just about sums it up for me, too!

JB,

You seem to be a BG-42 man. I too like this SS best of all. You talk about the "Ugly Knife"; well, I was on the quest for a flat ground BG-42 ugly knife. Chris stopped making theses last year and it's going to be hard to start finding any Sebenza's with BG-42.

Good luck with the "In God we trust" one. Someone actually emailed me on my "Wanted" flat ground. It should be here late next week. There are some still out there if you look hard enough. The flat ground gives that little extra strength...Not to mention that it's extra ugly with a stone-washed blade and Chris's signature scribbled on it!

:)

I like my women a little on the trashy side................does that count for anything. :p :D

I agree that BG42 doesn't take a backseat to S30V. My BG42 Sebenza has shown itself the equal of both S30V knives I've owned.
