I have been doing some reading after digging up some of my old knives. Funny how it seems Schrade (specifically Uncle Henry'), Ulster, Boker and Imperial are all tied together. In there is Solingen, Germany as well. So many old knife making companies went under when the owners passed on having their companies not just die but end up being bought out.

Very interesting.

I also fine a binding tie between Cutco and Kabar, both owned by Alcas.

Finally most have ties back to the state of NY and further back to Sheffield Cutlery in England.

Interesting indeed.

Honestly the way all the older cutlery manufacturers where connected always gave me a bit of a headache.........still very interesting though!!
