Two opposing factors at work.
-The quickest delivery time ever 10 days from Michigan USA to Wollongong NSW.
-Mammoth Ivory.

Very nice Meako, three beauties there

Meako - that´s actually three great looking knives and a very fast shipping time :)

Congratz, Sir!

That mammoth ivory #79 is begging for more pictures. I can tell from here.

I will also now laugh every time I see it, because of your thoughts here:
...I'm very happy about that because one of them has mammoth ivory and despite several enquiries to Aust Customs (useless they just don't know their own regs) and much communication between me & the vendor who insured it at his own expense and we bumped up from standard USPS I had an awful feeling that it was going to be seized and cut in half to determine what type of ivory it is and then sent to me in pieces with a bill for the work they did saying its OK to have mammoth ivory.

Congrats, on the knives and on their swift, safe arrival.

I'm glad the mammoth ivory made it through australian customs. it is frustrating for us non US people sometimes waiting for more than a month for our knives to come through, I'm quite sure most of that time is spent in customs too.

Great score meako. Looks like you're set for a good weekend sir. It would would sure be good to see some more of them when you get chance.

I'm pretty sure, given OZ's stringent border/import controls that this was said in all seriousness....surprising I know, given the OP :)

Could be!

But "funny" is ultimately in the ear of the bemused, regardless of intial intent. Laugh, I shall. :p

Just a splendid covey of beauties!!! I can't wait to see more pictures of these knives with some Aussie landscapes in the background!

Thanks everyone -yes they aus customs are v stringent and immovable when it comes to this type of thing-last year I ordered a elephant ivory sunfish from this vendor but he refused to post it due to the
understandable risk-despite the pre CITES paperwork and it being 100 years old -Just not worth the risk of losing it.
This time I figured mammoths are not endangered having been extinct for 4000 years so therefore not vulnerable to poaching. I did the research -communicated with the vendor who was still not keen but relented after I sorted out what certification was needed(the tube from the manufacturer states the provenanvce of the ivory and that satisfies Aus Customs). He very generously insured the package at his own expense as well. I purchased Three knives in all -the 79 mammoth, the 12 saddlebrown jig bone and the dark cherry BJM-and what a cherry it is.I can't recommend this guy highly enough -all of my dealings have been flawless. Hes not BF listed so PM me if you want.
More pics will follow.
cheers.

It would be utterly hilarious ...if it wasn't true.

Meako,
Nice BJM. The 66 in all its iterations is my favorite. All of your new folders are great looking BTW. Congrats on getting the mammoth through customs ... no small feat in an age of eco-vigilantism (I think I just made up a new word ;)).
