Hi all,

I'm kind of new here, but decided to post some of my works.

Hope this is the right place for it.

Deatails:

Blade: Finnish mono carbonsteel, 58 HRC hardness

Blade length: 7,9 cm

Blade thickness: 2,5 mm

Handle: Bubinga, Etimoe, Steamed Acacia, Vulcan Fiber

Sheath: Cowshed, 3mm hick. Handstitched, wet-shaped. Customer wanted something simple, so I only did minimal tooling on the surface. Then it got the linseed-oil and the beeswax coating.

Would value Your opinion very much!

I only asked because it's rather traditional for N European style knives to have the blade and the handle made by separate craftsmen.

very very nice work regardless

I really like that sheath. Especially how the loop is passed through rather than stitched on both ends - would make it adjustable for a tight fit on any size belt - very nice!

Thank you very much, NDallyn!

Whenever I am given the liberty I make this loop, for the very reason you noted.

Plus, it saves me some stitching. ;););)

Great work! How do you advise users to hold it to avoid injury since there's no guard?

Thanks thinfinn,

I usually don't have to advise them as want a puukko, because they are familiar with the design. Traditionally these knives do not have guards at all. They were and luckily enough are still (because I am in love with their design) used by finnish fishers and hunters who don't do much stabbing motions. The handle is just wide enough in the base of the blade to allow safe stopping of the knife by the thumb when you peel something, or work with it towards your thumb. The handle is designed so that it offers comfortable hold in many positions as this is a working knife in Finland.
