I'm a big fan of Northwest Axe Co. and I know the owner Andy Gregory who more or less makes these axes in his garage.
My friend and I made this video for him, featuring none other than Andy Gregory himself. Would love to know what you think!

If you've never been to his site, go now!

I just learned that I am apparently highly undervaluing the stuff that I sell...

I'm not sure what to think about someone joining and basically doing free advertising with their first post. Well, that's not true, I am sure.

Nice video, but not sure what they're trying to say about their products. My observation and assessment tells me they don't take make anything, instead, take old used axes and hatchets and refurbish them in a garage, then charge you MOMA prices. The only new production item is a hatchet made for them, and by who, I can only hazard a guess...Council and/or Snow & Nealley. A west coast version of a similar east coast outfit.

While the video is cool, it looks like he restores axes and then sells them for a ludicrous price. If that's what they sell for, send some of his customers my way. I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you.

The only new production item is a hatchet made for them, and by who, I can only hazard a guess...Council and/or Snow & Nealley.

My guess is it's a Council. Snow & Nealley has a fully surface-ground finish to their heads, while Council grinds only the bit region. That hatchet has an as-forged (but de-scaled) finish on most of it like Council does.

This thread is borderline advertising and as such it violates the no dealspotting and no shilling rules. Best way to go about these things is as a casual observer with no stake in the company, friendship or otherwise.
