I made another recurve today and I'm start'n to like how these blades feel! This one is sort an experiment, I hardly ever make anything with micarta but this blade seemed to need it. About a seven inch blade.... of 1084. What'daya think of this one Danbo?? :) It's "wasp - waisted"!! uh huh... feels very cool.... Oh my! look! there in the last pic: it's Danbo's "Magumba"!! now which one do you want???

I like them both, but I'll still stick with the wood handled version. So, is it on the way yet? :D

Keep trying,I'm sure you will conquer that warp problem you are having with your quench!
That is a nice looking knife.Got sort of a mountain man look to it.

looks great! What did you use to grind/ Just a 2x72 or do you go back with a wider machine to keep the bevel flat all the way down?

I love me some recurves and those are two beauties!!

Good lookin blades Mich, I just recently finished a big cutter with a recurved blade and I'm starting to like these also. Yours has that bolo thing going on which looks mighty fine.

Umm, take a look at his avatar, maybe? :p ;) :) :D

his avatar looks like that guy in the mag......thats what made me say... Hummm :) I'll have to check into this further :)

Damn! I didn't know Danbo could make knives too! :D Nice work Mitch, as always. I dig recurves and that is one fine specimin.

Well la de da.... I might even have to buy a copy! I'm glad to hear you all like the knife. The first one I made with the wood handle goes to Danbo. I think I'll give this second one to my son for Christmas. It's smaller than it looks. Now sharpening these is another story: I'm having a hard Arkansas stone "re-shaped" by a lapidaryist on just one edge so's to be able to stone a final finish. Hell I don't know how a regular customer would ever get one back sharp without some knowhow...

Hey, I finish one every blue moon or so! ;) :)

As for sharpening these recurves? I guess I'll have to learn. Maybe with crocksticks or a diamond rod?
