Today we went back to that knife store with the kid that wouldn't sell to me because I was 16, it was a different kid, and his brother actually went to my school. I was looking at kershaws and crkt's and showing some of my knowledge on the knives, so I think he really felt better about selling to me, he knew I wasn't 18, but yea. I got the Kershaw blur, black handle, black blade with serated. My friend picked up a onion leek silver blade and handle. He really likes it and thanks me alot for showing it to him. I want to thank everyone on bladeforums for telling me so much about knives so far, even though ive been on here for a few weeks. Ok...

I love the blur. I was going to pick up the crkt tiny tighe breaker, but man that thing was sooooooooo small, im so glad I didn't buy it online. The blur is nice, and I believe it will be great for camping and on the boat, even though I go wakeskating and not fishing :) This is the blur.

I just love the shape, and the tumb studs slant, making it so easy to open. I also love the back tap like thing on the leek, very nice, and the grip tape like stuff on the blur, very nice as well. Ill be putting it to the test here soon, going camping and taking the boat out in a few weeks.

By the way...transformers is so tight.

oh and does anyone else have the blur, does it loosen up and flip open alot faster after you break it in? this is my first real nice knife. My friend got the leek, he got the one that was in the case, because the one that was new in box was serated, and he didn't want that. It opens very fast, the blur is fast, but his just snaps at the end.

i have the blur and it will open faster and faster the more you use *cough*play with*cough* it. it'll just get more and more fun!

^^ haha thats good to know. I hear its different from other assisted openers, how so, is it because of that torsion bar thing? im going to check on the kershaw site, but anyone got a response?

its really only different in the thumb studs. it isnt faster than every AO, just kinda there in the middle of the pack. the chive is kershaw's smallest AO and it opens as fast as, if not faster, than the blur. the offset is a freakin monster compared to the blur and it opens just a bit slower. thats because of the blade size. both the chive and offset use flippers and studs to open them, where the blur is just studs. overall there really isnt much diference in the torsion bar and opening speed. its more along the lines of whats used to open it (flipper, ect.) and size. the blur is the well-rounded package.

yea my friends leek has the index opener thing, the flipper. It just seems that the flipper helps it open faster, but his blade is way smaller then mine, and I believe that a flipper on the blur wouldn't look or feel right.
