I've been posting progress pics of this in the general forum, but I finally finished it and feel like showing off :) . This is a lockback-style folder with an O1 blade, bocote scales, and brass liners/hardware. I ground the blade from bar stock and heat-treated it myself (which left a neat texture that I kept on the final piece). Thanks for checking it out.

The final knife. It was hard to take pictures because of the shininess. The bocote scales look pretty nice.

The blade is 3 1/16" long.

It fits well into my hand.

The rear spacer/bolster is also O1 steel sandwiched between the brass liners.

The texture of the blade looks pretty neat. It also hides blemishes well.

Beautiful work, man. You're right about that cool texture. Looks like water. Well done!

If that's your first knife, then there's no telling what you'll be making in the future. Very excellent job for a first, I'm very impressed. Keep up the good work!

Awesome work man, it looks really great, especially being a first knife. Can not wait to see what you are working on next.

isn't that from one of those pre-made kits?
pretty sure I've seen something very similar..

Nope, nothing is pre-made on it. I designed it and cut out everything from bar or sheet stock, then ground and shaped the parts as I saw fit.

Awesome, nice work.
I hope to make my first knife this year, been drawing and watching way too many youtubes. that is inspiring.
