I like using Strike King Rocket Shads for deep water swift current or schooling fish. They cast far, sink fast and bass gobble them up. They cost over three bucks a piece and are not very durable. The skirt falls apart quickly and the double hook set up is not reliable. Twice I lost big fish because the hook just came out. My local store has these Strike King spinnerbaits for a buck fifty. Here its pictured along side a Rocket shad.

In about five minutes I made it into this. I think its going to be a much better lure and less expensive too. I switched the blade out to a smaller one.

This is the latest "project" lure I've come up with. I wanted an underspin that didn't have an exposed hook so I tried to make one off a Gamakatsu weighted swimbait hook. It's suppose to be a lot less snag prone in theory but I haven't had a chance to fish it yet so that's still to be decided. Also I plan on using Magnum Super Flukes and trying to attract the biggest fish (Bass or Stripe) I can so the much beefier hook is another plus.
