I made the left handed Kizer Gemini I wanted

Greetings. As a left handed person in a right handed world, I am pretty ambidextrous. There are a few righty only folders in my collection just because of the design. I tend to like simpler designs like Ray Laconico's. So nothing designed by a Klingon. One knife that always drew my attention was the Gemini, but the lefty titanium version was nla when I got into this hobby. So, when Kizer produced the Gemini in S35VN and lefty, I ordered one right away. Wow, the size, shape, full flat grind, and my first left handed liner lock. Loved everything about it except for the green camo Raffir scales. I'm just not a camo kind of guy. The thing sat in a drawer.
Last month I took a chance and ordered a right handed Gemini N690 with Micarta scales. With a bit of sanding, two holes, and mixing parts, I now have the knife I wanted. It isn't perfect, there is a small gap between the scale and liner on the non-lock side and the lock side scale's finger recess is a bit deep. The Raffir scales were designed for full size liners while the Micarta righty had recessed scales so my Frankenstein lefty is a bit thicker than the original righty (and maybe slightly thicker than the original lefty). Overall I am very pleased with the result. Posting this in case there are other leftys interested in this modification.

Thanks Riz! I live only a few miles from Golden and have been in their showroom wanting to like their left handed models. I really want to support them because they do make some dedicated leftys, and are local, but all their lefty models are a bit long for my needs. If the Para 3 came in a lefty, I'd get a couple.

Lefty here - I find the compression lock to be one of the most left-hand friendly locks available. Works like a back lock, (unlock with your thumb), slap the choil down on your index finger, and shake the blade closed from there. It’s really quite good, just wanted to mention that.
