I may be too wimpy for my BK2...

I picked up a tri-hone sharpening system with some Christmas money. This morning I decided to sharpen the BK2. I couldn't believe how tired I got sharpening this thing. It is soooo friggin heavy!

I need to it the weights!

I like the weight. Makes you feel like a man! You know you have a tool in your hands when holding it. It stirs something caveman like inside me. Makes me want to chop stuff and make fire... then go hunting and get some meat to roast on said fire.

Hunting with a knife always makes me feel manly, too. If I ever did it, I mean, it probably would. Especially hunting bear. That's what I've heard, anyways.
I know what you mean Muphasta, I've whittled with mine and it gave me forearm cramps.

You guys got me going off topic but I've seriously always wondered if I could knife an animal in my ghillie suit. I mean some have come close to me. With some luck and super ninja-Rambo skills I bet I could BK2 something!!!!!

Seriously though, I love the weight of the BK2. I used mine for a week straight for every knife related task (to include cooking, cutting, prep, etc) just to make sure I was really acclimated to the blade and knew I could do anything with it. It never felt "heavy" to me, but now it definitely feels right.

There's no spear season in my state.

Straight out of the First Blood movie.... but you really need a Rambo knife for this. :D Maybe the BK-2 would do in a pinch. ;)

Alright, Its time to try bear hunting with nothing but my BK2!

Yeah, the BK2 is definitely the "Do you have man wrists or girly wrists?" test. It definetily felt heavy when i first picked it up, but you get used to it quick. Like TBL said, you can really tell it's a tool and not a toy when you pick it up.. Ok maybe a little bit of a toy ;)

Every night while you're watching tv or doing whatever you do to relax hold the knife and sheath for awhile . You'll get used to it

I know this thread is more about whether or not someone is man enough to wield a BK2, but how do you like that tri-hone system muphasta? I just picked one up a day or two ago and haven't had a chance to dig in with it yet.

Well, I was joking, I'm not used to such a heavy knife.
Regardless, the sharpener seems to work well. I've little to no experience sharpening knives, but the kitchen knives cut much better, and the few pocket knives I worked on slice paper no problem.

The BK2 is sharp until I get to the round part of the blade. I don't know if that is called the belly or what, but it slices paper on the flat part, but I can't seem to get a good angle on it to the stone. That is the part I really notice the weight.
