I was doing housework and had a knothole in a pine board in the attic I needed to remove. It was loose and I figured I'd help it out with my Sebenza. Bad decision. I was not hammering or anything, but obviously the knot wasn't as loose as I had thought. I am now pretty bummed and am leaving this on display in my safe to remind me of what a dummy I am.

Send it to razor's edge and get the blade reground into a tanto!

You can easily go for a regrind as you haven't lost that much of the blade. The other option is $135 and a few weeks to get the blade replaced. :)

Just send it to CRK and get a new blade. I bet they'll replace it for free, especially if you've owned it for a few years. You get a new blade and they get great PR.

I wouldn't expect they to replace it for free given you were using it to pry. However, for $135 it's still better than it begin out of service. Not sure if a regrind would be cheaper or not.

Yes! Get a reprofile similar to the regular seb blade - a clip/drop/spear point.

Contact Richard J on BF. He made my old model tanto into a drop point. Richard is a really nice guy and doesn't charge a lot either.

Richard is a pro at sharpening and reporfiling.

Ah, just leave it and use it for a flat bladed screwdriver. Seriously, looks like you have several options. Choose the one you like and go with it.

Sorry to hear.
I'd let it regrind to a modified Insingo.
red mag

PS: You could probably make money by lending it (for a small fee) to fellow knife-knuts,
who need to justify the purchase of a damascus blade? ;)

Thanks for the ideas. I don't know anything about re profiling these blades. I may look into that. I'll probably end up buying another blade anyways. I would like an insingo. Now I'm wondering if that would look to short.

Ouch! Like the others above, I would regrind it:thumbup:
Instead of paying someone else to do it, why not spend the money on a grinder and do it yourself? Then you have it for future mishaps or mods you simply want to make. Even a ken onion worksharp will do some light grinding for around $100.

Pick up another one on the exchange, send the broken one to crk for a new blade and a spa and then you can sell the one you bought for a back-up if you need to.

+1 ,send to CRK for blade replace.

$135 is nothing compare to the whole price of the knife.
