I order all my new knives with magnum handles when available, I really like them. Then I erred when I apparently neglected to specify magnums on my HR.

It arrived Monday. My first impulse was that I ought to post it for trade with someone who ordered magnums and then wished they had the regulars.

However, the regulars are growing on me in this knife, which I don't view as a serious chopper. It has a very good "feel" to it.

So I think that my new rule may be, magnums for SFNO size and up, regular for anything below that size. I don't know yet. Jury is still out.
 
If it really bothers you, you shouldn't have to live with that feeling of regret.

Just ship that HR up this way, and you won't have to face, on a daily basis, the source of your irritation. :D
 
i like mine reversed of your thoughts on this matter, regular on the fat and fatter on the skinnier.
 
For me, I like my knives and scales on the fat side.... with being women just the opposite. :D
 
I was really surprised at how comfortable the magnums are. I don't really thick or wide handles very much, but I like the magnum SH a lot better than the regular.
 
I wish I had got my SFNO with magnum handles, and I’m sooo happy that my HR has magnum slabs.
