It's been a while since I've made a post......
I had a little free time today, to tinker around with a few ideas I've had.
I've been trying to figure out a way to mount my BK24 in a cross draw, horizontal setup. Here's what I came up with.
First thing you'll need, is an older Kabar BK7 sheath.

Cut out the insert. For some reason, this felt good.....

Now, gotta cut it down to fit the standard BK24 sheath. 2 5/8" was enough, so, I got more left to work on other sheaths with.

Now, nothing really special here, just some standard issue Super Glue. Its more to hold the belt loop in place, while other things are a goin' on.

So, I glued the belt loop down, to the bottom of the sheath, reasons for doing so, will become evident momentarily.

After the glue set up, next comes the inner tube. This is on there to add some compression to the belt loop, adding resistance to the belt inside. And to give grip for a paracord wrap, to be done later.

See?

Now, the reason I glued the belt loop flush with the bottom, is to make a spot for a firesteel. Coughlan's fits nicely.

Next up, just a quick, down and dirty paracord wrap around. About 9' of cord, and its held in place by the inner tube.

I put one wrap of paracord down on the actual sheath body, right in front and behind the belt loop. More resistance to keep the sheath from slipping on my belt when I don't want to.

Teh Gut Pic.

All in all I like it. There is room for expansion on the core idea, I'm interested to see what others come up with. Not alot of material needed, just an old Kabar sheath, and there should be plenty of them floating around.
