I just purchased a Gold membership and I guess it will take a few days to process. At any rate I cannot access the "for sale" forums to post this the way that I should be doing this.
A while back, I had planned on entering the military and decided to purchase a knife that I could rely on in the field. I decided on the STRIDER BN (unmarked SEAL 2001). It is a fantastic knife and everything I had hoped it would be.
To make a long story short, my wife became pregnant and we are expecting our first - a little boy
mid January. Consequently, my wife's and my decision about my spending that much time away in the beginning of my son's life, changed 180 degrees. I have a lot of admiration and gratitude for those who do make that sacrifice for us. Up till now, I recognized it, but never truly grasped/appreciated how much they were giving up. So, I'm not going to be in the military and I need to raise some money fast and here's why:
My wife and I are covered by great insurance, but for some reason the anaesthesiologists in our hospital don't support BC/BS so they want a deposit of $500 (Not what I intend to be asking for the knife) up front
to reserve their services in the event that my wife desires/needs an epidural. Unbelievable. So anyway, I need to make these reservations ASAP and though it kills me to do it, selling my knife seems likely to be one of the most expedient ways of doing it. It has been carried on a camping trip and seen the lightest of use - never having even needed resharpening. It still has the original edge. I figured that I would let you guys in on it to get first crack at it. If I have stepped out of line too egregiously by posting this in this forum, please accept my apologies... I'll understand and not be offended if this thread gets deleted. Take it easy, guys!
