I missed out on the Northfield/GEC #83-Tascosa run and I want one badly. I really want one with stag and Zulu blade, dressed nicer on Northfield brand. Is this is something GEC brings back after a few years? Or am I SOL?

Hope springs eternal! Since the #83 pattern has been so well received, I'd be very surprised if they didn't make another run. But to get your exact preference, especially the Zulu blade part, seems pretty unlikely.

First of all, GEC has to be allowed to open its doors again, sooner the better;) Hard to predict their plans at the best of times. The 83 is much to my liking too as it's compact yet a decent size to boot, it came in Drop-Point shown and Clip, might work with Spear too. The Stag on this one is quite good ;):D

I had a dream the other night that GEC had decided to issue an 83 as the 2020 Forum Knife, then I sobered up :eek:

Don't feel too bad about missing out on the last run of 83's. A lot of other folks did too.
As for another run of them ... they might do one sometime in the next 15 to 20 years. No promises or guarantees from me though.

From what GEC told me, no two runs will have the same blades/blade combination. There has to be a distinguishing characteristic between each run, aside from the last two numbers of the tang stamp.
Therefore, the chances of the next run (if there is one) having Stag and a Zulu blade are less than zero.

I'd guess your best bet is to watch the market here, and at a couple other sites that might have one like you want come up.
Oh, and don't hold your breath while waiting for one. You'll likely turn a mite blue or green if you do.

Good luck in your quest. :)

Hope you’re ready for the new 83’s coming soon!

will, what do you mean? Are they not operating at 100% due to COVID? Not enough room for social distance for all employees? Is that way you could find knives at dealers for a bit after release before COVID but since, they have been chickens teeth? I guess I’m asking.... why so much harder to get at dealers since Covid?

I think my post was from 26th April last year and was in relation to GEC being closed down for a while during the initial epidemic.
