I Missed This One

BG, I didn't see that one... That would have been a nice one to have for sure... There's always more... :( ...

i never bothered with ebay before, but you guys have got me hooked on it now LOL

60's I'd say. Others here can pin it down better. I think I see a tang pin meaning it's not a really early barrel nut.

If I've learned anything from my brief e-bay experience, it's that if you miss one there will be other interesting offers to follow.

Yeah, there's always more coming along......I'm thinking this one was maybe 1963 Personal. Appears to be in pretty good shape.

Aspiring e-Bayers note......if it seems to have gone for a pretty low price--it was listed with only Buck as identifier and it ended mid-morning.

That's how you get decent deals. You just have to actually bid......which I failed to do.

;)

If you happened to start following this seller......he just listed another knife and he's using the same picture as one he already sold today. Maybe he just doesn't know that this won't work. He only has 24 feedbacks so anything is possible.

BG,

I think you need to take a better look. It's not the same pic, in fact it's not even the same Model of Buck knife as the last one. The only thing that is the same is the table that the knives are sitting on!

Well, I didn't say it was THIS knife. Actually, I'm talking about a different knife. He sold two that I know of.....he had some others that didn't interest me, too.

It drives me crazy when people do this. He says he has these identical knives so it doesn't matter if he uses the same picture. I suppose to him that makes sense, but in my experience there's no such thing as identical knives when they get close to 50 years old.

I just shake my head in amazement.

I could not help but notice the irony in this! :D

Yes.....it does seem a bit funny that another one DID come along.....and so quickly!

And supposedly a mirror image of another one already sold.

Almost too good to believe. Where are these old knives coming from?

:eek::confused::rolleyes:

And here's another interesting question (aside from the more ridiculous notion that he really does have two identical copies of what looks like an old 102 one-liner).

The question is: does he have the sheaths mixed up? The one he has with the 102 looks like it might fit the 118 better.

What I mean is (if these are 102 and 118) the sheath on the 102 looks long for it and the sheath with the 118 looks short for it.

I fear this young seller is headed for some negs due to simply not knowing what the hell he's doing.
