Today I just got done putting my X-Ray vision together after the following modifications and improvements:
1.Rounding the sharp edge on the thumbstud
2.Rounding the thumb serrerations with a benchgrinder (too sharp)
3.Rotating stop pin with other pin (switched the back screw with the stop pin because the stop pin had lots of wear)
4.Rotated the lock bar to the other side with no wear
5.Cleaned omega ring area
6.Lubed blade pivot and washers

I know doing this voided the warentee, but I have used it hard and it needed the cleaning and the improvements. It has done well so far so I am not worried about the warentee either. After a while of hard use, I reccomend doing this as long as you know it will void the warentee. There is a noticible improvement and I am very happy with how it works now.

You are right Chris, but the only problems I have had with it was the handle flex, the sharp stud, and the sharp thumb ramp. I have fixed two of the three....

Hi Kman,

The flex of the handle is normal and not a knife integrity problem. If flexed while in use, it restores to normal. If it is flexed to the point that the knife breaks (which has not happed to any customer with the exception of Cliff Stamp under abusive condition), the knife has been overused.

I'll talk to our R&D department regarding the edge on the thumbstud. I don't personally have any problems with mine, but I may have built up a callous. The first week our Arc-Locks came out, I tested about 2,000 and got a really sore thumb (couldn't open a knife for a couple of weeks), but that was due to over use of my body part. Though I've opened many knives a day since, I've had no thumb-related problems. I also don’t recall many others (maybe one or two, I’m not sure), complaining of concerns like yours relative to thumbstud related issues, but I’ll bring it up for review.

Thanks for the reply Ron!
I really dont have any complaints about the knife, I love it. I just did a few little things to make it work better for me. But this will not always work for everyone.
