I must be doing something wrong

I can't get the black teflon on my Recon 1 to start wearing off like in so many pictures posted here. I've been cutting cardboard, shaving dead tree limbs, and I did some light batoning. There's no significant wear on the blade coating. I was looking forward to wearing it down to a rough-used look and then after a while chemically stripping it. Maybe I'll start cutting up sandpaper...

This is what my new Lawman looked like after maybe 3 minutes of cutting sod. I too like the look of a well-used knife. But sandpaper is cheating. I bet that if you dug a hole in the backyard with your Recon 1, its appearance would change pretty quickly.

I guess I'll have to up my game. That's a nice egde, by the way. What system do you use?
