I'm sitting here wondering if I should sell a bunch of my knives to buy a Gen 2 3.5" flipper for $2500!!!!!! But I WANT too!!!!!! I'm sick!:(

Sad thing is I would never be able to use it. I wouldn't even carry it. I'd just stare at it and keep it in the safety of my home office... maybe put it on a stand.... Could it be considered an investment? Will it appreciate in value? It's a pipe dream - I'd never be able to pull the trigger. But I want to!

Well, if thats what your into its not to much. Plenty of my friends think I'm crazy for just having a regular XM 18 3" because of the price. I've spent more on watches, jewelry, and guns. But then again I do use them. But hey, people spend millions of dollars on artwork and all that does is hang on a wall collecting dust. Even if you wanted to do something with it you couldn't. At least with a hinderer you will always have the option to use it :D

Feel free to use it like their meant to be used I carry my customs every now & then. I do not cut cardboard with them though, don't want to scratch those nice grind lines. As far as an investment, it definitely is. If not an investment then you can enjoy carrying it & using it lightly then sell it for the same price, they hold their value if you don't scratch them up or dull the edge.

that's ridiculous, you should be going for the 3.3 hellfire! :p

just close your eyes, and click the submit button, HURRY

The Gen.2 is extremely nice, I received my first Gen.2 3.5" last week, this one was dead mint. (not for sale BTW)

Life is short.
On the last day we are alive I doubt that our greatest wish will be that we should have enjoyed less of Lifes Pleasures or that we should have worried more.
IF the purchase does not put anything at risk.........;)

It doesn't. I could sell 5 knives and have the funds..... it's weighing on me....

You are the final arbiter but..... I will say that I have (and will continue to do so) sold audio equipment, guns, knives, cars in order to fund purchases within the hobby.
Especially when I really want something and the items I am selling are laying dormant OR if I am selling an item in order to fund a "better" performer or investment.
Not sure if any of that helps but, it is my perspective after "a couple" years muddling around this mortal coil:)

If you made a thread, and already figured out the logistics, it's only a matter of time

Looking forward to the new thread with pics ;) :p

You guys are enablers!!!!! It's really a tough decision. I pay for my hobbies by money I make playing in a band (my other hobby). Doesn't take away from my families budget and my wife doesn't mind because otherwise I'd be depleting our savings account. That said, I've been able to build up a pretty nice little collection of great knives including various CRKs, Les George VECP, Strider SMF, and some customs... The CRKs, VECP, Strider, and Hinderers are all replaceable so in theory I could sell them and buy the RARE Gen 2 which I would definitely consider a "collectible". Then begin rebuilding my collection again as money comes... I don't know why I have such a mental block about spending so much money on a knife. I've spent as much on stereo speakers and didn't think twice... a knife is worth as much as you are willing to pay for it right?

Well, I wasn't going to pay full price based on comps but an offer has been sent... Fingers crossed...

Cannot pass judgement on your mental health, but do wish you luck. If your offer yields a new knife....pics, please.
