I must say I'm disappointed with my favorite knife company!

I bought a large zermatt sheath from Victorinox and to be honest the quality is very poor. It pales in comparison to any other sheath I've ever owned. The button rivet on the inside is exposed to marr the handles (instead of protecting them like you'd think it would do), the leather is dull, unfinished in appearance, and very cheap feeling, and the overall fit and finish is very poor. :( They're lucky their knives are so good ;)

Just curious, did Victorinox make the sheaths? If a 3rd party made the sheaths for them, it would be someone who submitted the lowest bid and thus, I would not be surprised.

Try a sheath from Wenger. I've always used a Wenger sheath for my Vicky SAK--> good quality, easy opening/closing and not too bulky (I am still talking about the sheath, here). :)

I've got one that I use with a Swiss Champ and for the price (under $10) I think it's fine. It's lasted a few years with no obvious wear and still holds the knife securely and snaps closed without a problem.

I did have to put a piece of tape on the inside of the snap to keep it from scratching the handle (too late) but the knife is for using, not entering into a beauty contest.

Just a slightly different point of view.
