I have been using a $16 Ruko 440A 3" Tanto Total overall 6-3/8" Combat Neck knife. I love it for it has stood the abuse from the Salt water while Spearfishing. Amazing what a little Lime juice does on Rusty knife's:cool:
The Last big Cabezon 26" 14lb! My knife was not Long enough Nor able to cut any of the Fish gills plate's in that matter. Only the serrated part but was to small in Length to be affective. "I'm going to need a bigger knife" !!!

So I plan on making my own dive knife, Basic 440C steel skeleton knife Serrated.

I found this http://www.knifemaking.com/product-p/cf418.htm
Noticed that it has been Hot rolled and annealed. Is this going to make havoc for me while grinding down the blade and also What tools and Style's used for making serrated edges would you recommend?
Do I need to be concerned with Work hardening or Messing with the Grain Structural values at all if I do attempt to make a full serrated edge blade?

Seen a guy on youtube use dremel tool to cut out along the blade every now and then cooling if off, Then by hand used a Diamond Round Rod to get the cutting edge.

Has any one used Polyurethane to seal the Steel to help prevent rust?
