OK
Starting to wear cowboy boots more...
Don't know why but I just like em (wife isn't so keen but oh well)

I would like to start carrying a good self defense boot knife...
Something I can carry on the inside on my weak) L side.

1) I get nice custom boots, I do not want to have them ruined with new
stitching that doesn't match the design how about something that attaches
by the boot pull on strap?

2) This is my first boot knife, I do not want something huge not with a thick
handle. I want something tough, not slick BUT would stick to my jeans if I need
to present it (Im talking about handle here). Id like a blood groove in center (not needed)
and Id like the blade partially serrated or something of that sort on at least half of one side.

Again this is not meant as a beauty queen BUT I am not opposed to elk or anything like that
IF it is tough and not slick... If its a useable beautiful knife thats fine with me but I don't
want something Id be scared would break if carried and used.

What is your budget. I can make a couple suggestions

1. If you are looking for custom handmade quality....I know the best legendary maker...Mike . You can check out his forum Snodyland under the hosted knifemaker section

The boot knifes he puts out are 154cm sharper than hell....I have the highest quality ones he put out all of the ones I got from him he put extra time into polishing and sharpening

I work with a custom sheath maker and he is sick. The best in the world. If you want something inexpensive and simple it can be done quickly if you want something super custom and elaborate it can be done quickly and isn't really much more money.

The problem...all these knives are sold and his custom work is hard to come by...he is busy making 3000 dollar folders and high end heirloom knives. Ask around.

If you are looking for something cheap I can suggest some production knives....but if you really want quality heirloom custom and you want it soon, I'm the guy to talk to as I have just received an order of incredible boot knives the best out there and I hope it turns you on to his other work and what he is all about...you won't find a better knife maker anywhere and you won't find better quality anywhere for this price. He is completely sold out of the custom boot knives RULES VIOLATION
Rules Violation.
Depending on your budget you can customize it 100 percent or if you are looking to save money the paracord wraps are absolutely perfect for a boot and their are 1000s of really amazing color combinations

They come with a certificate of authenticity from Mike and I was going to list them for sale except I'm busy and don't have time....I'm busy marketing them to high end collectors but will make you an awesome deal since you posted on the forum...

You really aren't suppose to sell stuff in the wrong part of the forum so I'm sorry if I have done something I am not suppose to do I really need to read the rules and I encourage you to look around at customs and productions from plenty of knife makers but I can tell you I have looked and you will not find better quality anywhere.

Good luck either way :)

Jk Handmade knife did a really neat Swedish style boot knife. Maybe over your budget, but I don't know.

Check out Twin Blades, they have a model called the Silent Partner which might meet your requirements.

this has got to be one of my favourite boot knife designs of all time;

Joe Szilaski has a line of Mid-Techs that are D2, double tuff and stay sharp. They can fit about anywhere with the sheath system. When you clip one on the top of your boot the pant leg covers it. No danger of it coming out of the sheath. Very affordable and best of all, they all have Joe's touch. When the boots are on one is always clipped to them.
