I need a carhartt hoodie and I need it to be as warm as possible becAuse I don't like heavy or puffy coats. I Want a hoodie with a warm lining and preferably in black. Thanks in advanced for your ideas and recommendations.

I used to have a dickeys hoodie with a quilted liner. one of the many things that got given away when i moved down under, but that thing was comfy!

I was just researching this myself. Carhartt makes four lined hoodies:

Car-Lux, polyurethane foam, $60
3-Season, quilted, $60
Thermal-lined, polyester fleece, $80
Allerton, polyester fleece, $100

Some find the polyester fleece too rough to wear with short sleeves.

Don't pay more than 85% list. Sierra Trading Post has Carhartt seconds which are cheaper. If that appeals to you, sign up for their daily spam and wait for a good coupon. I have a bunch of Carhartt t-shirt seconds: one had a crooked hem and I couldn't spot the flaw on the others.

When I get the right price, I'm buying Thermal-lined for chores and 3-Season for formal occasions when I wear a Henley.

Carhartt 3-Season and Thermal-lined hoodies arrived today, $35 each. One was missing the cleaning instructions tag, the other had a ½" threadbare edge on an inside hem. I might not have noticed if I didn't know they were seconds. Sizes run like Carhartt t-shirts.

3-Season is quilt lined. It would be good outdoors down to freezing, or colder if you are driving more than walking. I have a size 8 head (too bad it isn't full of brains) and the hood is a tight fit.

Thermal-lined is the real deal for outdoors when it's cold, highly recommended. There is room to layer a down vest underneath, and I could wear a hunter cap under the hood. Like everyone says, the thermal lining is not comfortable on bare skin. It's not like being waterboarded, but you won't forget what you are wearing. I will wash it today and see if fabric softener tames the nubbies.
