Im looking for a cheap Kukri. Well an inexpensive Kukri. Nothing fancy or high end. its going to be used for -theres just no other way to say it- decapitating hogs. my friedn in mooresville indiana hunts hogs on his 129 acre property & wants something large enough to get the head off in 1 or 2 swings but doesnt have the $$$ for an expensive HI or cold Steel Gurka (???) Kukri.

Try the Cold Steel kukri machete.1050 carbon steel, and by far one of the strongest, yet lightest kukri's i've worked with.It retails at around $15-$20, but I think you'll be impressed. Also, if you're not opposed to spending a litte more cash ($50-$60) check out www.khukurihouseonline.com.

I will second the Cold Steel Kukri machete. Very cheap and the for the price, the sheath isn't that bad either.

Kershaw outcast with a convex edge

I like Kukri's and have many.

$60-$150
HI and KH are nice, but $$$. I have many of these!

$35-$40
Atlanta Cutlery has some authentic new kukri is made by the official government contractor, Windlass Steelcrafts® (India for the 100,000 Indian Gurkhas), for issue to the Gurkha's Assam Rifles Regiment for about $35 or a Genuine Gurkha Regimental Kukri for $40.

I have both of these and these are good for the money.

$9-$25
For less these Look OK, but are most likely made in India or Pakistan. I do not have these, but look like OK beater knives.

The CS machete kukri is a decent machete that seems to enjoy some of the attributes of the kukri shape. However, if you only want an inexpensive head lopper, the CS Two Handed machete may do the job better and for a bit less.
