Sony Ericsson K850i sucks. the touchpad had gone haywire on me, the second time in less than a year. i am not spending another $100 just it fix it, getting a new phone. no more made in china crap!

$300 is my limit, given these phones may not last the length of a 2 year contract, i cannot afford another new and shiny "risk"

i am a mechanic, and i keep my phone in my pockets, at all times. it gets worn, theres no way around that, but i dont need some stupid novelty to f it up again. i dont drop it, but thise case really does not take the abuse.

a good camera is a must, i currently have 5mp, would like to match that. this is the only thing i want, i dont use internet or music on it so i dont care about those.

Who is your service provider?

how about the 8 gig 3g iPhone? All kinds of hard cases for it. To see image quality, check out my post in the review and testing forum.

yes, but no. i need buttons, and refuse to pay $80-$100 per month. thank you, try again

I'm not up to speed on normal phones. I have the 16gig 3g iPhone and love it. It's really the Swiss Army Knife of phones.

Sonim phones are exceptionally tough, but I don't know about the camera though-another suggestion is the Samsung Solid.

I have an LG Chocolate. Reportedly the GSM version works with AT&T. It has been dropped, drowned and beaten and aside from when it was drying out hasnt failed. I'm not sure on all of its tech capabilities but it does what I need.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to make t-mobile phones work on AT&T.

motorola Zine looks interesting... i will look into that, thanks.

T mobile phones will work with ATT. they both use GSM cards
