Hi
I am getting ready to move to the Philippines
and need a tuff blade
I am takeing my Puma white hunter /MMHW assassin and one of their bowies These guys are great I have know them for like 20 years .
I am also takeing a western bowie and of course a hawk and a machette
I am looking for some thing around the size of my Puma .
Don't want to spend alot { 75.00 }.
The duites of the blade will be .Killing and dressing hogs /utilty/
some skining/chopping /cutting/ and just a genral purpose blade but It will be abused/droped/left outside/put in fire /and just have a very ruff life .
Man you should see what my olld Puma looks like !!!! And my Assassin well it had a ruff time too ha ha ha
I will also carry some of thoese pocket tools as well as a Puma pocket knife
I have used some of the native Bolos there and the steel is mild and they are kinda crude..But I did see some Spanish Andujar and some other knives from Spain but am not sure if they are any good
And info and ideals would be great
Thanks
Chris

If you are killing the hogs by stabbing, you might want a knife with a narrower blade than a Becker. Beckers are great survival knives and should work for your other tasks. My cousin brought a Cold Steel Tanto to back to the RP and said it was the best knife he ever used to kill pigs. A dagger such as the CS Peacekeeper should be even better than the tanto, but it would be too specialized IMO. The Recon Tanto would be a better choice. If you shop around you might find a Recon Tanto and a Becker for about $75.00. I'd bring a couple of folders and maybe a neck knife and multitool as well.

Uhhh, I don't know if you're looking for fixed blades only, but you seem to already be covered in that area, so I say get a LARGE REGULAR SEBENZA!!!! It's one hell of a knife. I promise that you'll love it;)
Also, if you want to feel native, you might consider getting a karambit as a utility/defense blade.

Yep, with the price restriction the Becker 7 is the knife for you...not a bad choice even if you could afford more.

If you can get a Large Sebenza for $75 I wanna know where you're shopping
