Before the Bladefourms "loss of data", there was a thread going on about a multi-tool that could be opened like a balisong. I'd be interested in getting one of these if I could remember which one it was. Does anyone remember the thread or know which one I'm talking about? I think it was made by SOG??? And has anyone used one?????

Yes, it was the big SOG PowerLock...It CAN be flipped-open.

These guys got it right.

All SOG multitools that boast the "compound leverage" (them gear lookin thingies) can be manipulated like a balisong, with the exception of the 2 small keychain models wich are too small and have springs on the hinges. The Powerlock is the best of the bunch with its large size, needle nose, and locking impliments. The rest are great too, the powerplier has big beefy pliers to it and the pocket powerplier is a slightly smaller version with needlenose.

I very much believe, and this is from experience, that the SOG multitools far surpass thier competition in quality.

The original Leatherman tools can be opened like a butterfly once they get loosened up.

That was it!!!! I ordered a SOG PowerLock today. It should be here a least by the first of next week. Thanks everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
