ok, here goes.
i have had my machettie for many years, and the handle broke.
it was a plastic handle, held on by metal pegs.
today, i removed the handle, very carefully(using a metal saw and a sledgehammer.)
i managed to remove the handle, so that only the metal portion remains.
there is metal where the handle was.
i was wondering if anyone could de-rust, sharpen, and re handle my machettie for me, how much it would cost, etc...

a url or a e-mail for a repair shop would be greatly appreciated

Check out the Ontario machetes on www.quickknife.com, you should be able to get an economy model (very thin, cut like crazy) for very cheap. However, they do mostly expect you to sharpen it yourself...

let me rephraise that...
i have a machettie oof a hard to find size
the entire length of it is 31 inches

Address:http://www.cutsforthknives.com/catalogs/1/MM.htm .

A 31" machete would be 26" blade 5" handle, yes?

The above link has them in that size. Martindale is a premier machete maker. Barteaux is another maker of good machetes that catalog that size.

To fix the existing one, you'd clean it off with high grit sandpapers. To replace the handle, you'd find a couple of slabs of material you link, then you'd cut them to size with a band or coping saw. Then it just filing, and sanding them to close shape. You'd then attach the handle to the tang(metal part) with epoxy, and cutlers bolts(or rivets) or the like. From there, it's just finish work.

You might find a custom maker to help you in the makers section. Be warned though, I might cost a fair bit of money to fix it up.
