I need a makers help

I bought some of the kydex sheath making foam from KnifeKits. I made my own press but I am not sure which side of this foam to glue to the press and which side is used to press/form the hot kydex. It has a smooth side and a porous or rough side. I dont want to screw this stuff up so.... Any help would be appreciated.
 
Never used that stuff, so take it a boulder of salt, but I would think the porous side would face the work if it matters one way or another.
 
i wouldn't think glueing the foam would be a good idea. doesn't it wear out?theres a fabric glue that stays tacky after it cures so you can stick it to things and remove it.like fabric (or sponge) post-ums...
