I need a medium sized fixed blade, please help!

Not to be rude, but could you be any less specific ?
Budget, size, intended uses, etc

PSK, Little Creek, Essential, City Knife, Gunny, Little Carver, Mini Fox River, Mini Canadian, Northstar Campanion, Pocket Bravo, Pro Scaple.. just a few Bark River offers. I've had a Little Creek, Northstar Campanion and Pocket Bravo.. all great little fixed blades.
Falknieven F1, BRKT BK13, ESEE Izula/Izula2, .. man there are so many.. just depends on size and style.

Sorry, for not being specific, just wanted to know what you think is good. Price=under$100, Blade length = under 5 inches, and handle material= I don't care.

WOw... I wouldn't consider a blade of 5" a small fixed blade.. That's bigger than my "Big" fixed blade at 4" :-)

Small is usually 3" or less on blade length.. so may want to update the title and remove the "small".. just a thought to get good suggestions for your needs.

Holy cow Batman. Not trying to be rude here, but you REALLY need to give use a little more to go on. For less than $100.you could afford to go to a custom maker for a basic, no frills, 3 inch or less blade. But we very much need more to go on if you want actual help. C_becker has a good little list of questions that would be a start. Or, if you'd prefer, look at Hawk45's post for a list of potential makers to look at.

Good luck with your search.

Again, I want to see the one YOU would choose. under 5" on this forum, actually seems small, so that's why I'm using that.

I think this is going the wrong direction.
Since no parameters were given which would limit this to a traditional pattern, I'm moving the thread to the General Forum.

That's my take as well.

My two small fixed blades are: Bark River Essential EDC (2.7" CPM-M4) and Fallkniven SK3 (2.8" 3G).

Awesome. I like the sheath, and although it's not the most convenient one I've ever used, it can carry a lot of cool stuff. Here is what is in my sheath:

Top to bottom:
BK17 (duh)
Ferro rod, case, and striker
Mini-Altoids tin with cotton balls and vaseline, Esbit cube, and fatwood
Buck 425 Mini-Buck

Esee Izula or BRKT bravo necker would be my choices for small fixed but small to me is 3" or less. 4-6" is medium-ish, 7+ is large but that's just my take.

Check out Condor too, I just picked up a 3" Mini Bushlore and for $30 it's a great, scary sharp, easy to sharpen in the field blade.

Hi M.A.,

Welcome to BF. I highly suggest that you check out my thread (on the GENERAL page) titled "small fixed blade knives".
I am a fan of "small" fixed blade knives and this thread has LOTS of excellent suggestions and pictures provide by BF members. That being said, I have a feeling that you might be more interested in MID-size knives.

Regards,
HARDBALL

I edc a rc3 from rat cutlery. They are called ESSE now. They are about 100 bucks and have great stock sheaths. It's almost 4 inches in blade length.
