I lost my Maratac AAA that I have been carrying for long time. Assuming it doesn't show up in the next few days, which is quite possible, I need a new light for pocket carry.

I think I want to move up to a single AA since I am trying to run AA in all my lights. It just makes sense to me to only have to stock 1 type of battery.

So here's what I am looking for suggestions on:

1 - AA
Clicky tail if possible
Small enough for pocket carry everyday

I have a Quark AA that I've been happy with, IIRC you can get a deep carry pocket clip with them too now.

The iTP C7T is a single AA light with tail clicky. They are on close out, but Storl still has some instock. I've had mine for a few years now and it is my most carried light. The C7T was replaced by the SA1 with the XP-E R2 LED. It has a pocket clip. Just saw the newer SA1 XP-G R5 version. Supposed to be brighter then the XP-E with the same run time. Cool!

Check out the iTP A2 Eos. It's the AA version of the Maratac (iTP Makes the Maratac light).

Fenix and 4Sevens also have lights that will probably meet your needs. I'm just more familure with iTP's offerings. :)

I highly recommend the Zebralight SC51.

I am also looking for a new pocket light. I've been carrying the Maratac AA for a while and have a few issues. The clip is always catching on my shirt, so it's just a matter of time before it winds up in the toilet. The switch is starting to act kind of screwy, and I've never been a big fan of having to twist it back and forth three times to get the bright setting. The price was right, but I'de spend more if it took care of these issues. The proton it replaced was great, but the switch wore out twice.

I think the nitecore D10 is one of the smallest AA tail clickies but I could be wrong on that.

Depending on light size, output, and how much you want to spend, the Quark MiNi AA, S2 or the Quark AA² Tactical.

I own both of these on the attached link.

Now I carry the ITP C9 (black flashlight on the right). Although it uses a CR123 battery I am not too concerned about it. The lumen output is excellent at 190 and it is compact enough to keep in your pocket. Super heavy duty construction. This one gets top marks for a small pocket flashlight./QUOTE]

It looks just like my Maratac 9290. Still a little big for my pocket carry preferences.

highly recommend the Zebralight SC51./QUOTE]

I've been looking into this one. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger soon.

I just picked up my second," Energizer " Tactical light. it uses one AA battery & has a tail switch, & very good pocket clip. Target had them for $15.75.
they seem to be a very good light. it has the Cree internals. very bright & for an LED, it throws a pretty good beam.

+1 on the Zebralight SC51, 1xAA and 8 modes, .2 lumens to 200 lumens, nice and small, high quality. I also just got an ITP A3 EOS upgraded with R5, great little 1xAAA and only like $20, its like 2 lumens for 50 hrs, 22 for 4hrs and 100 for 55min.

+1 for the ITP lights.

Over the past year, I've come to find the Streamlite 'Argo' LED headlamps indispensible. I have two in the house and one in each of three vehicles. Up to close to 30 hours of 'burn' on low with three AAA cells and a suprisingly powerful beam on high and medium power. Waterproof, shockproof, positve switch, etc. What's not to love?
