I need a new slip joint

Until a couple of weeks ago I was carrying a SAK Climber, at which point I lost it, and so now I need a new slip joint to carry in the watch pocket of my jeans, and when I'm wearing nicer clothes. I'm open to any options, although I want it to be slimmer than the Climber, and it needs at least two blades, other tools are optional. Other than that, if you have any questions, please let me know, and I will do my best to answer them.

Thanks in Advance,

Well, you will get plenty of suggestions here...maybe too many, unless you give us more info :p
Size? Steel preference? Blade preference? Handle material?
As for the "I need a new slipjoint" thing...I must have heard it before...

I've never owned a climber, so I don't know how thick it is. But may I suggest a Peanut?
They can be fancy, and they get the job done very well.

Yes the Peanut is a great choice, as is a GEC Pemberton, GEC Esquire, or even the GEC 68 White Owl (single spring 2bladed knife).

It wasnt a climber, it was a tinker, but this is the exact same situation that brought me here and started my knife sickness!
so be warned...

the alox electrician deserves a second opinion!
and that 2nd opinion is (me) Yes! :D

I'll do my best to provide you with answers, but my knowledge is better suited to my ZTs and Benchmades.
Length: OAL needs to be less than or around 3.25" Blade length can be in between 2 and 3 inches
Steel: Not sure what steel is usually used in slipjoints but I want at least medium quality steel if possible, because it will be my EDC
Blade: preferably one blade with a wharncliffe (or another non-pointy tip blade style), and the other with a drop point( or another pointy blade type)
Handle:Uhhhh... Something that will look decent in dressyer situations, but still hold up decently to daily carry, and the outside.

@VictorLewis: Thanks for that suggetion, but if I get another SAK, I think I want one that comes in Alox

@jc57/Rsmith_77: Good Suggestion, I'll keep that one in mind.

I'd take a look at the GEC conductor or the Case mini copperhead. If I'm not mistaken the GEC is 3 3/8" long closed and the mini copperhead is 3 1/4" closed. Both carry easily in any pocket and can look very classy. You can find the copperhead with wharncliffe main and pen secondary. The GEC will more than likely have clip as the primary and pen secondary.

I have an alox electrician and like it a lot.

The Buck 300 series yields some good knives, of a more utilitarian nature. The 303, and 301 are really nice in particular. I like the 309, but it's too small for some folks.

The #33 Conductor is in the size category you mention. Now as far as blade steel? A majority of the traditional knives the folks here in this sub-forum prefer and carry are 1095 Carbon Steel, so you're gonna have a steel that will take on a darkening/greying patina (or rust if neglected) with use. There are certain GEC models that are stainless steel.

Case has a number of stainless models. In your size range you mention I you may want to look at the Peanut or Small Texas Jack. Case makes quality knives at a modest price.

Watch the Exchange here and you'll see knives come up for sale at lower prices than you'll find them at retail. Find one that catches you eye and give it a try :)
