Wasnt sure where else to post this at and thought somone here may know. I was looking to get 100-200 knives made up with my company name and number on them for my customers. Ive looked around on the net a little but havent had too good of luck. Problem is I dont want to spend a fortune but I also dont want to get knives that will fall apart immediately. I install farm/ filed drainage tile mostly for farmers and having my name and number on a knife could do me a lot of good but a functional knife would be nice as well. any recommendations- thanks in advance- Joel

Maybe try www.kutmaster.com (click Promo tab) or Colonial knives. It's hard to find folks to handle promo knives anymore. Most of the American companies are out of business that handled that work. Most use Chinese base knives now.

Ask Bernard Levine also, he might remember others.

Googling "promotional knives" I found a Wenger SAK at gimmees.com.

Don't know anything about the "gimmees" company, but a Wenger SAK would probably be a good inexpensive knife for this sort of promo. Not too cheap and a recognized brand name. Depends on your budget, though.

Queen Country Cousin..... I work with farmers too, they would like that more than most of the others mentioned. Plus, Queen might be willing to do the promo stuff for you at the factory. Never hurts to ask anyway.

I contacted Thomas from Kershaw about having a small run of 25-30 knives made with my company logo and have had no reply so far. When he gets back to me I'll tell you so you can decide if you'd like to try contacting Kershaw direct. I'm not sure if they'll do engraving from the factory but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks a lot fellas I got a ton of good ideas from you guys comments. Truly appreciated. For thoes of you who were such a big help, I'll try to send ya a promo knife if I ever get em made. thanks again- Joel

+1. Nice reliable knife, and won't break the bank. SAK's are overused in my opinion.

+1 on the Drifters... I got mine for USD15 from a retailer and I'm sure you can get them at a lot lower if you order 200-300 pieces. Great value IMO.

A quick check at Smoky Mtn shows 50 engravable knives; over 20 for less than $10. I'd look around and find what works best for the money, and then check with your local trophy shop or jeweler for the engraving.

I understand your dilema, you want the promo item to reflect the quality of your business. It is difficult to find high/decent quality promo items that don't cost a fortune.

I opted for Fallkniven U2's for my business, but I only hand out 6-12 per year. They come laser engraved direct from Fallkniven.
These would be cost prohibitive in the quantities you are looking for.

Not sure what price point you are looking at, but what about something like Opinels? with the cost of engraving on top you would be $10-$12 bucks per customer. You may even get additional discounts on a large quantity buy.

Regardless of brand, I think you will have difficulty putting any kind of quality into your customers hands for much less.
