Hi, I have a nice knife that has wood and metal handles The knife is pretty nice but its a little too flashy looking to me. The knife is marked Emerson on the blade but thats all it says. I've seen some Emersons at the gun show but they are alot different and the name doesn't look the same on this blade. I have showed it to a bunch of dealers and they all said it wasn't the same company that made it. If anyone has any info on this knife I would appreciate it. Its a folding knife. It has a little thing sticking out so you can open it with one hand, but I'm not sure what its called. I got this knife from my father and he said its probably 20 or so years old. I love this knife but I was thinking of putting some Brownells Bake on Teflon on it so it would match my Colt AR-15. I put some Brownells teflon on my old AR and it really turned out great. I have a few questions first though. Will the Brownells Teflon stick to the wood pretty good like it is or will I have to scuff the wood up some before I apply it? Also, do I need to take the knife apart before I apply the coating or should I just leave it all together and then spray it? The knife is pretty nice but its a little too flashy looking to me. Its a folding knife and the backspacer looks like its made from something yellow. It also has a little thing sticking out so you can open it with one hand.
