Title says it all!

I'm in need of the above so I can run some radio programming software from the late 80's and early 90's.

Screen size is not important. if it is a black and white screen, all the better. Color is ok as well.

it needs to have a working HDD, and a working 3.5 flpooy drive, and an AC adaptor. I can get by without a working HDD, but I prefer one. Must be bootable into DOS. Operating system is not important.

Let me know what you have, and we can talk. I've been on ebay, and lost auctions on two of them, and no others are available that I can find.

PM me or email me invadr1@msn.com

PM me. I have an old Toshiba Satellite. 10gb hard drive/win98se - 40mb ram - ext. cd and floppy, power, etc. All works perfectly except the CMOS battery is dead so if you unplug it for an hour or so it loses the system time. Otherwise no problem.

Before I moved to Canada last year I dumped a perfectly good Olivetti 286 with colour monitor, 4 mb RAM and a 40 Mb hard drive. It belonged to my mother and was my first computer. It had all the Windows DOS, Windows 3.0, 3.11, Word Perfect for DOS, Word Perfect for Windows and Freelance (DTP)software. Also had all the manuals for all the programs. I knew someone would want it! All the software was put in a big box and went to auction. I got about 8 pounds for it.

I have a Compaq Portable III that I bought on eBay dirt cheap. Not exactly a laptop, more like a sewing machine case. I don't wish to sell mine since I like it so much, but they are rather common on eBay and you shouldn't have trouble finding one in good condition for $20-$30. The orange plasma screen is much nicer than the monochrome-green monitors that were common on other computers of that era.

Here's what it looks like:

It should fit your needs perfectly. Currently there's one on eBay at $15 with no bids.

Happy hunting,

Boy, does that pic bring back a few memories. Any interest in a 360 floppy system?

Me? No. My Portable III has a 3.5" floppy drive. It may have arrived that way from eBay, or it may have been an "upgrade" that I made.

i have a compaq slt 286 :) i think it works but no operating system installed ,, If you cant find one My sister might have a old one ...I wopuld have to ask! The 286 has a flooppy and the hd works last time i played with it ,, Its a laptop ..

Boy this is old stuff. I like it.... :) Sorry, I don't have anything for ya'. :grumpy:

Since we're rememberin', I started with an IBM 8088 with a 20mb hard drive and the basic 640kb ram. Then I upgraded the motherboard to a 286 and 1mb ram... Whewwwww boy, THAT was a big speed change... :p

I have an original set of IBM DOS 2.0 disks and box. It has funny cartoon characters in the manual explaining dir /p, type, and copy commands. Probably worth good money on eBay.

Thanks. Good luck.
