I own a couple of benchmades griptilian h20, mini griptilian, osbourn 940. What is another nice benchmade for edc. Thanks

Depends on what size you are looking for and how you plan to use the knife. For me the 950 Rift is great EDC. I also hear lots of good things about the 707 Sequel which could very well be my next Benchmade.

My favorite Benchmades to EDC are the 551 series, the 710, and the 790 Subrosa. The 790 is like the Sebenza of Benchmades; it is unbelievably light, has titanium handles, and a razor sharp S30V blade. My only gripes about the 790 is that I don't like the spring assist, and I don't like the recurve it has. The 710 feels better than it looks; it is very ergonomic and very smooth.

Something that I've learned about Benchmades, is that Tuf Glide does wonders on them. Benchmades are one of the few brands that I've noticed that when you add some Tuf Glide, they become super smooth. I think they are like $8 for 0.5oz of it, but it is sooo worth it.

I think all the folders they offer are good for EDC. Some people care about the weight of an EDC knife, but I don't.

In fact, as I type this I am wearing board shorts with a large Rukus clipped into the waistband.

It's so difficult to try and suggest a knife to someone. Beyond specific use or tasks it's very subjective. What I like you may hate and so on.

I would recommend the Rift. It's a fantastic knife, perhaps one of the best in its class as far as what I would consider a mid sized blade at it's price point. Overall a great knife that excels at most tasks.

It's super smooth, carries well in the pocket, great blade design and good ergo's. Not to mention the cost is very reasonable. You really get a lot for the money. Especially for a knife you plan to put to some use.

I should add that I really like every knife suggested so far so I don't think you will go wrong in whatever you choose.

Best of luck!.

I held a Rift once and really liked the ergonomics. Blade looked good, too. Along came the Contego, with the same blade style. Along the way, I got a 111H2O in yellow. Fun! Same handle as the Rift.

... too many knives, too few tax refunds ...

:D

When I got my first Rift around 2009 I think? I said two thing's to myself, first, this is one of the better knives BM has come out with in a while. Second, if the blade was just slightly longer it would be perfect. I tend to prefer closer to or 4" blades.

Well, last year when the Contego was introduced I knew I had to have one the moment I laid eye's on it. When I finally got one I said, this was definitely worth the wait.

Like you said, so many knives, so little cash.........

Like everyone else has said it's too hard to pick just one to carry, all knife enthusiasts EDC multiple knives.

That being said and myself owning 35-40 different benchmades, the one that offers me most in EDC and defense if I was put in that situation I would have to say the 950 Rift all the way, just an all around great blade to have in your pocket. Ergonomics are great and you barely feel it in your pocket! Hope this helps. good luck!

I put a single drop of tuf-glide on my mini grip and it became one of the smoothest operating knives I've handled. I guess it's a real thing then eh?

The 710 and 520 come to mind as good additions.

The BM 710 is an all time classic, and for good reason. When you get it right the first time there really isn't a whole lot of need for improvement.

If you only had one knife and it was a 710 you would be very well equipped indeed..

Isn't it great to have so many choices? That's what's so great about this hobby. Something new to learn or explore every day if you want.

707, Ritter Grip, Mini Onslaught, Dejavoo (If you can find one), and the 300SN are all great choices.

I currently rotate between my mini grip, emmisary, presidio and my 707 which is by far my favourite almost opens faster then the assisted emmisary and closest just as fast
