Okay, I need a recommendation of a good and accurate but cheap calipers to measure my Busses. Of course, if anyone has a spare they'd like to send me, I'll be happy to accept!
I know nothing about calipers or micrometer or whatever. I just want to get some accurate measurements.
Please let me know what I need to do. Thanks.

y'know the one's (calipers and micrometers) i use at work are probably in the $150 range and get calibrated every 6 months to a year, i've seen cheap calipers at home depot and Kragens, for about $25 , don't see why they wouldn't be accurate +/- .001" ,i've been told the dial indicators are more accurate than digital, {don't know for sure} and i have noticed that the micrometers seemed to go out of cal faster than the calipers

I'll counter that and offer Brownells instead: http://www.brownells.com/

Mike Dillon has good deals on the stuff he carries, but the guys at Brownells have everything you could wish for and more than you realized you needed.

I use one of these, principally for reloading but occasionally to measure Busses: http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=7997&title=DIAL+CALIPER

Picked up one on sale for $20 this winter, comparable model at my usual electronics supply shop is $60 right now. Gotta love digital simply for the fact of changing from mm to inches with the press of a button. Comparison measurements are also SUPER easy(set on reference, zero, and check other parts, see if it's + or - at all).
