I bought this CQC-13 seemed to be reputable dealer. Anyways i just got the knife today and I weighed the knife and it weighs 6oz the specs on emersons website says it should weigh 5oz. I also noticed the screws where in a different place then in the stock photo on emersons website, but in reviews on youtube they all seem to match. The screws are all phillips and flat, the knurling seems to match. The logo on the knife does look a little strange it almost looks wavey instead of perfectly straight. The thing is sharp as hell and lock up is great, I have no idea what to think please help me.

I got the knife from sawyers cutlery if thats helps out anyone with letting me know if its real or not?

- The screw position may have changed over the years. Phillips screws are used by Emerson, so that is one plus in the authentic category.

- The lettering on my two Emersons (CQC-10 and Combat Karambit) is like that.

The Commander is the model that is most often a fake. I don't think I've ever heard of a fake CQC-13. It would also help if you posted pictures. That would make a lot easier for people to determine whether it's real or fake.

My cqc-7 has wavy logo too but it's a real one. One simple test u can do is to check if one side of the liner (the locking side) is titanium. It is non magnetic and has a different colour shade than the other liner.

so heres some pics sorry about the quality i cant find my good camera so i had to settle for these crappy pics

Looks just like mine did before I sent it to Ferrrk. :) I've only ever seen fake Commanders pop up. That being said, its always good to be vigilant incase China steps up production of other models!

yes it was from sawyers in MA, I am going to take it to a knife dealer in my area just to be safe. when it opens it is really rough sounding, and feeling. I know i could just oil it but i might send it back, are they usually rough out of the box?

If you couldn't tell it is my first emerson and i am new here so hello all thank you for your help

I was just at Sawyer's yesterday. I have never seen a fake or junk in the store. I wouldn't worry. Put a drop of Tuff Glide or something similar on the pivot - it'll fly open.

So got back from the knife shop today, and he confirmed it was an emerson. Whewwww I was relieved thanks for all the help you guys rock!
