I already have a nice collection of hunting knifes and know what I like. The spyderco reminds me of the endura which I love the geometry of. The benchmade is made in USA and s30v. Which should I get first for deer skinning/dressing.

Oh... I think you are in wrong subforum. In this forum we use to discuss traditional knives in general - be it folder or fixed blades. But they should be traditional.

You could try your luck in General Knife Discussion.

Have a nice sunday :)

I'll move this to General Knife Discussion.

The benchmade. Better blade shape. Argueably better steel. Not to big. The endura would be great for caping deer although i hate it as an all around knife. All i used last year was lone wolf skeltonized caper $21 N680 steel and hacksaw to cut through ribs and pelvis.

I should definitely try the Moran drop point. It's only $80 vs $200(most of my fixed blades). I really like vg 10 for edc. It's probably my favorite. After using waterstones with spyderco m4 Bradley I can appreciate the ease by which vg 10 comes around. That m4 is just ridiculous to sharpen unless you have a wheel or one of those cheater systems for the people that don't know how to freehand.

Went with benchmade 162 and added a cold steel pendleton hunter since I have heard good about it. I like the Moran but the X-ray view of it scared me away. Thanks for the input guys.

The 162 is a great choice, it's one of a few knives I want to pick up. I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.

As a quick follow up I have used the benchmade 162 recently as a deer dressing knife. It is a great knife for opening skin. It is a poor knife for taking skin away from meat. It is simply to thick on the handle to get precise and proper control. It does work fairly well for removing meat once skin is pulled away. I know, it's a bushcraft knife by function:). I like it and will keep it but now wish I would have went with the temperance for deer dressing.
