this is my Every Day Carry except my flashlight. I used to carry a coast G 20 which yes I know sucks. I lost it and now need a new flashlight. I don't care about the cost of a new flashlight. I don't want one with a bunch of complicated modes and I would like it to be around the same size as a coast G 20.

Been through quite a few penlight size flashlights looking for the ideal one. I've settled on the Streamlight Stylus Pro. By far the best in my opinion. Single mode, easy to use, bright enough for most, and most importantly the tail switch is perfect forward clicky with long travel so you can flash it on as needed, but it doesn't tend to turn on accidentally in jeans pockets. I tried the Nitecore MT 06, which is really fancy with multi modes, but the tailswitch just doesn't work for me, it turns itself on too easily in my pocket and is flat when i need it.

I'm a big fan of Streamlight lights. I have quite a few expensive lights, surefires, HDS, FourSevens, but I always end up with either a Stylus Pro, a Microstream or a ProTac 1L in my pocket.

I think the best bang for your buck would be anything by thrunite, I have been very pleased with build quality and performance ESPECIALLY for the price. Can't go wrong.

Olight S1 seems like a really nice option right now. Very small for the amount of light it puts out and the magnet in the tailcap can be really handy. I also like the looks of the Nitecore EA11. Puts out an insane amount of light for a light that size if you use an IMR 14500, and can also use standard AAs in a pinch. It also has a red LED, which can be handy when you don't want to wake up a loved one or screw up your night vision. I have heard of some QC issues with Nitecore, though, so go through a reputable dealer if you go that route.

I have a pretty solid flashlight collection, and I think that the recommendation for the stylus pro is a good one. It has just one mode, around 60 lumens, and runs for about 6 hours with 2 AAA batteries. It uses a tail clicky.

HOWEVER, if I had to choose one light it would hands down be my Foursevens mini M2A. It's a twisty, runs on to AA batteries, and has three really useful settings: 3 lumens, 40 lumens and 200 lumens. I really love this flashlight. You can find them for around 40 dollars and the construction is really top notch.

I wrote a review on it too, I think it's in this sub forum if you want to check it out. Here are some pics.

Happy hunting and let us know what you get!

Thank you so much this looks like a great option. I love the size and power.

I also just ordered a Maratac cr123 light in copper, plus a box of cr123 batteries.

The thing is made of copper, .75 inches in diameter and 2.75 inches long. 2 lumen, 55 lumen and 300 lumen modes! Might be worth checking out. It's a limited batch so they'll go quick, but I've heard great things. Can't wait to get mine!

I carry a Klaus RS16 with me everyday. Take a CR123, but recharges by a magnetic connection cable.

The Coast HP4 is identically sized and gives you a standard reflector and lens with 100+ lumen output. Also has a momentary switch. It's been my EDC for several years.

I've been through a few EDC flashlights. The Olight i3s Eos is a great budget light.

During the week I carry an Eagletac D25a Ti and on the weekend (usually wearing shorts) I carry a Maratac AAA Cu.

MD has the new Maratac AAA Ti up right now so I'll be augmenting the Cu with Ti sometime soon.

I'm curious, which version of the d25 do you have the new one or older one?

I have the 2014 version with the XP-G2 emitter. I found a good deal online on the older model. Send me a PM and I can point you there.

If it's not too late, I would second the vote for the Olight S1. Very good choice for EDC! I'd also recommend going with some Lithium Ion RCR123's for it. Will save a lot of money over primary Lithium 123 cells.

There is even a Titanium version coming out really soon, and a copper version in the pipeline.

Olight S15 is similar, but a single AA light, and not as bright.

Thank you all so much. After looking in to all of these lights I figured I would end up going with a foursevens bolt action. This light has a small diameter and fits in the pocket nice and has a ridiculous lumen output of 490 and just looks so cool with the bolt action on the side.
