A saw a guy with an interesting folding knife and I'd like to get one for myself. It was a small folding knife, but the knife down the middle. It's hard to explain, rather than coming out the side it came straight out the front. Does this sound familiar?

there are many different kind sof knives, if you could explain in more detail im sure someone can identify the exact knife...Was it automatic? OTF autos are common (OTF stands for out the front) did the blade come out with the push of a button? Or was it manual? Theer are some manual knives that blades coem out the front...Try to remember what you saw and explain it furthur please...Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. The blade did not come out at the push of a button, it was a complete manual folding knife. It was small, and silver, perhaps a little oval in shape. Not sure what else I can say about it. It was really cool.

Maybe I should specify that it did not shoot out like a switchblade. It was still a folding knife, only it folded differently. Like, instead of folding east and west, it folded north and south. LOL Did that make any sense?

Welcome to Bladeforums! I think you're talking about a Christy knife. Let's see if I can find a picture ...

No, but you pic might help me to articulate. See how the knife is lying there? Picture the blade coming up and folding down into the handle; like a rainbow.

Nope not it either. All of these pics have the blades parallel to the handle. This knife turned into the handle, like it was actually perpendicular when is was halfway turned.

well Balazs posted a link to the rollock knife which sounds like that, try a google search for one to see it closing...maybe thats the one?

oh ok, yeah the snap lock...I dont have one, but sure, a few people I know on the forums has them...fun to play with...
